AUBURN, Ala. | Rivals100 offensive guard Landon Dickerson plans to cut an impressive list of offers down to five or six before the start of his senior season.
Auburn's chances of making the cut?
"Very good," said Dickerson following his third trip to Auburn Saturday.
Dickerson, from South Caldwell in Hudson, N.C., attended Auburn's cookout with his mom. They spent a lot of time with head coach Gus Malzahn and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes.
"I really like it here," Dickerson said. "It's really like my hometown, which is a great fit for me. Education-wise, fantastic engineering. They play great football down here too in the SEC. Coach Grimes and Coach Malzahn, we just really get along well.
"Coach Malzahn was just glad to get me down here and to also see my mom. This was her first time down here and she absolutely loves it."
Dickerson, 6-foot-5 and 297 pounds, already has plans to return to Auburn for an official visit Nov. 28, the weekend of the Iron Bowl. He's also set up an official visit to Michigan Sept. 12.
He plans to hold off on a decision until later in the process and after most, if not all, of his five official visits.
"Maybe during the season, after a few officials. I'm not too sure yet," Dickerson said. "I wouldn't say I'm wide open, necessarily, but I've been cutting out a few schools I know won't fit me and I've been kind of visiting some of the major schools I like such as Auburn, Florida State too, Virginia Tech. Those are some of the ones I've been to recently. Hopefully, I can get back to Tennessee sometime."
Dickerson will play both offensive guard and defensive tackle for South Caldwell this season.
"This past season, I think I had 100 or something knockdown blocks. Hopefully, this year I can maybe push it up to 200 or something," he said.
