Offer moves Tigers into tight end's top group

Johns Creek (Ga.) tight end Tommy Tremble added another SEC offer to his list on Wednesday.

“Auburn came by the school and my coach texted me about an hour later and said they had offered,” Tremble said. “I was real excited about it.”

Auburn’s Rodney Garner visited on Wednesday, two days after tight ends coach Larry Porter checked in on Tremble.

“When I visited Auburn in the spring, they seemed pretty interested,” Tremble said. “I wasn’t shocked, but I was excited.”

Auburn joined a list of SEC offers that already included Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He also holds offers from Notre Dame, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and several Ivy League schools.

“I really like the coaching staff at Auburn,” Tremble said. “The campus and football program both are really amazing. Auburn is a big school, a big offer for me.”

The offer from Auburn moved the Tigers into Tremble’s top group.

“Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn and I’d like to get Duke in the mix,” Tremble said. “Those are my top schools right now.”

Tremble’s father, Greg Tremble, played at Georgia, but the son isn’t set on following in the father’s footsteps.

“None of them are ahead of the others,” Tremble said. “I like them all.”

Tommy Tremble hopes to have a leader by the end of the summer.

“I’m still planning to decide either at the end of July or when school starts in August,” Tremble said. “I’ll try and visit Auburn again. They want me to come June 3, and if I can make it, I’ll be there."
