No rush for Ruggs

Lee-Montgomery receiver Henry Ruggs planned to be committed to a college by the start of his senior season. He hoped to already have his focus narrowed to one.

Ruggs, a week into the season, instead is focusing on five.

"My top five is Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn and Penn State," Ruggs said. "I'll probably visit all of them before I decide."

Ruggs, who is ranked No. 187 in the Rivals250, last visited Auburn for the Tigers' "War Damn BBQ" event in July. He met extensively that day with Auburn receivers coach Kodi Burns and continues to talk to the Tigers' first-year coach.

"I just had a conversation with him," Ruggs said. "I talk to him a lot. They are looking at me as being the 'Z' receiver."

Ruggs is looking at Auburn, but wants to see what and how the "Z" receiver does in the offense. He'll also be looking at the Tigers' quarterback situation, which remains unresolved a week before the season opener.
