Tight end Matt Alaimo has scheduled an official visit to Auburn and has the Tigers high on his list.

Very high, according to his father, Charlie Alaimo.

“They are at the top of our list,” Charlie Alaimo said. “I would say Auburn is definitely at the top.”

Matt Alaimo, who is from St. Joseph’s in Montvale, N.J., has been in contact with Auburn tight ends coach Larry Porter. The two scheduled an official visit for Jan. 12-14.

“We have been out to a bunch of SEC schools, but we haven’t visited Auburn, yet,” Charlie Alaimo said. “I’m excited and I’m sure Matt is as well.”

Matt Alaimo committed to Pittsburgh in the summer, but reopened his recruitment last week. He’s now considering Texas A&M, West Virginia, Rutgers, Louisville, Florida State and Auburn. An official visit to Texas A&M for the weekend of Jan. 19 could be confirmed soon, Charlie Alaimo said.

Matt Alaimo had 44 receptions for 671 yards (15.3 avg.) and seven touchdowns as a senior. Rivals ranks Alaimo, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 232 pounds, the No. 29 tight end in 2018.
