City College of San Francisco (Calif.) offensive tackle Elliot Baker will take an official visit to Auburn, but it won’t be as early as planned.

“I’m going to wait and take it in the fall,” Baker said. “I want to see a game so I’ll most likely wait for one of their home games.”

Baker, who received an offer from Auburn in April, previously planned to visit June 3-5.

“I think I’m going to take an unofficial visit to Alabama June 4 instead,” Baker said. “I’ll definitely take an official visit to Auburn, but it’ll be a different weekend – most likely in the fall.”

Herb Hand is recruiting Baker for Auburn. The Tigers offensive line coach and the junior college tackle have developed a good relationship. Hand flew to California on May 3 to evaluate Baker.

“He and I have a great relationship,” Baker said. “I really like Coach Hand. We communicate a lot. He’s one of the reasons I want to visit Auburn. Auburn is also one of the top SEC schools for me.”

Baker, who stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 295 pounds, lists Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Oregon as four of his top schools.

“I’ve never been to Auburn, but I like Coach Hand and the tradition there,” Baker said. “Auburn is right there with Bama, Oregon and Georgia right now.”
