Jamari Staples's official visit to Auburn has been postponed.
The former UAB wide receiver was scheduled to be on the Plains this weekend, but will now wait until after Christmas.
"Coach (Rhett) Lashlee called me this morning and told me they were going to be out on the road recruiting this weekend," Staples said. "He wants me to wait until after Christmas to visit so they will have more time to spend with me."
Staples has not re-scheduled a date for the visit, but expects to soon.
In the meantime, he'll continue searching for a new place to play after UAB ended its football program last week.
Staples is leaving Monday for an official visit to Western Kentucky. He also plans to take official visits to Florida and Louisville within the next two weeks.
As a freshman at UAB, Staples had 31 receptions for 458 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 14.8 yards per catch. In 2014 as a sophomore, Staples, from Clay-Central High in Lineville, Ala., was limited with an injury, but still managed to average 21.1 yards per catch.
Staples has three years to play two at his new home. He would not have to sit out a year after transferring.
