4-star running back nearing decision

It's down to three schools for 4-star running back Jeremiah Cobb.

Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee are the finalists for the Montgomery, Ala., native, who took his official visit to Auburn this weekend.

"It was great," Cobb said. "Real fun weekend with all the staff and coaches."

Cobb has been to Auburn several times, seeing that he's from just down I-85 in the state's capital city, but this weekend was about getting to know the coaches better and having a good time.

"Just hanging out with Coach Cadillac [Williams] and [Trovon] Reed," Cobb said stood out about his visit. "Just getting to know them. Hanging out with Coach [Bryan] Harsin and just getting to know them not as coaches, but like, just men."

The 5-foot-11 running back has had a solid relationship with Williams for a while now.

"We have a real good relationship, especially after this week, got to really know him," Cobb said. "He loves music. Learned that this week, loves his old music and all that stuff. It was fun."

Williams even did karaoke at dinner during the visit. Cobb said it was "pretty fun to watch" but that he didn't do any himself.

Cobb's mother, Rachel, also celebrated her birthday during the visit.

"They got her a cake, sung happy birthday, all that," Cobb said. "It was real fun, she loved it."

On the football side of things, Cobb spent time with incoming freshman Damari Alston, who also plays running back.

"[Alston] just got here two weeks ago, he said he loves it up here," Cobb said. "He’s a real cool guy to hang out with and have fun."

Cobb has already visited Clemson and will be in Tennessee next weekend. Auburn has made him a top priority and he knows it.

"Everything was perfect, they’re trying to rebuild Auburn and make it better, back to where it was," Cobb said.

So what sticks out about his final three schools?

Auburn: "Definitely the family here, and definitely the atmosphere and how much love they have for all their players."

Clemson: "Definitely the head coach Dabo [Swinney] and C.J. Spiller, the running back coach and just that relationship with those few guys."

Tennessee: "They've just been on me since the beginning of my recruitment, one of my first offers, so gotta show them some love."

Cobb is set to make his decision in early July, following his official visit to Tennessee.
