Auburn has picked up a commitment from one of the country's top junior college wide receivers.
Gulf Coast (Perkinston, Miss.) Community College receiver Brandon Martin announced Friday on Twitter that he plans to sign with Auburn.
Martin, who signed in 2015 with LSU out of Prime Prep Academy in Texas, now will continue his college days on the Plains.
Martin, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 215 pounds, visited Auburn for Big Cat in June and left with the Tigers No. 1 on his list. His mother and father both joined him on the three-day visit.
"I’ve seen that they treat everybody like family and everybody is close," Martin said after his visit. "I was happy to see my mom and dad smiling and having fun. I think they would really be with (my decision) if I came to Auburn."
Martin, originally from Monroe, La., had over 1,000 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior in high school and finished with 1,000 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior.
Martin is scheduled to graduate Gulf Coast in December and enroll at Auburn in January. He is Auburn's tenth commitment in the 2017 class and fifth on offense. He will have three years to play three at Auburn.
