I thought with the Braves throwing two rookies and one 2nd year guy at arguably the best 1-2-3 punch in baseball, that the Braves couldn't handle it.

Gotta give Beachy, Minor, and Hanson some credit. I think they did all they could to keep the Braves in every game. Can't help the bats couldn't come alive against such a strong threesome (even though Minor didn't help himself out at the plate last night misreading the sign).

Luckily, the Braves now have some "easier" games ahead with Lowe and Hudson. Just gotta hope that the Phils rest their starters in that last series.

Good series, but the better pitching team won.

I think the golden record is 6-3. If they do that they will be at 92-70.

If you look at the NL West teams they would have to go the following just to tie:

SF - 7-4
SD - 8-4
Col - 10-2

SF is losing tonight and if that keeps up they would need to go 7-3. The Braves easily could go 6-3 with at Wash, Fla, and Phi the next three series.

I'm guessing Philly will have clinched the division and even if they do pitch parts or all of the big 3 it will be in Atlanta, we will have much more at stake, and they will only pitch 5 innings or so.

I still like the Braves chances to make the playoffs.

Well yeah I don't think it's that much of a stretch to say that this wasn't much of a matchup.

Hamels v Beachy
Halladay v Minor
Oswalt v Hanson

Other than Hanson, had you known much of the other two over a year ago? I heard of Minor when he was on those amazing Vandy teams (still don't get how they didn't win a CWS), but for the most part those two guys wouldn't be starting if the staff was completely healthy.

I like the way these guys held their own against the best. I think the Braves have a bright future.
