Two Roys and a Cole will be hard to beat come playoff time, a good test when they throw all three at the bravos next weeek.

Posted on 9/13 5:57 PM | IP: Logged

Yea, but the playoff expectations could change if you lose that series w/ the Braves.

Posted on 9/13 6:30 PM | IP: Logged

Sorry, but with those 3 going, Philly fans have a reason to be confident in that series.

I would expect 2 of 3, if not then the Phils won't deserve to win the division, maybe the wild card at that point. But if they take 2 of 3 I think the last series with the Bravos we will be resting the starters. Just my opinion. Bravo fans fire away.

Both teams will make the playoffs

My point was what happens if you don't take 2 of 3?

Posted on 9/13 7:29 PM | IP: Logged

answered, but the way the big 3 are pitching right now and their experience, no doubt in my mind about 2 of 3

Nothing is guaranteed, don't forget that.

Where is the word guarnteed, if I could do that I would own this site and live in the biggest house in vegas that I could find. But alas it's just my opinion, just like it is yours.

You're still the same team that lost 4 in a row 2 the Astros not too long ago. You might want to tone down the arrogance. The Braves are capable of taking 2 out of 3 even if Oswalt & Hamels pitched well.

Funny how when a Philly fan says it, you consider it "arrogance". If it was one of your Braves buddies, you would consider it "confidence". Nobody is guarnateeing anything. We are confident that we take 2 of 3 and should be IMO. Both should make the playoffs regardless.

Well... IMO the Braves should take 2 of 3 if they play up to their capabilities. I haven't seen any arrogance from Braves fans... at the most, I would call it "being defensive". All we've heard is how great the Phils are & once they get healthy & start their run, it's over.

I think most Braves fans are tired of the Philly attitude that we were in 1st place because you weren't playin well or healthy. What you did last year or the year before has nothing 2 do w/ this year.

To sum up my point, the Phils are not a dominant team on paper like some of you would like to think. Your bullpen & offense can be a liability @ times. We have plenty of weaknesses our selves, but are more than capable of getting back to where we've been 4 most of the season.

Lets wait & see what happens!

No arrogance at all, just a sampling for you, since you and I are reading different posts for sure.

Dem boyz have been on a run and can't make any headway on the bravos
Screw em!

Remaining Braves series

@ FL
@ PIT
STL (4)
WSH
@ NYM
@ PHI
@ WSH
FLA
PHI

Looking at the schedule and taking out the PHI games that means the braves have 22 games left. Let's say they average 2 out of 3, very possible looking at who they play. I will also say they take 3 of 4 from ST. Louis because it's at home. That gives them a 15-7 record. Yes, I know they might lose a series, but I also think they will sweep a series or two.

Add that to their current record and they are at 93-62. For Philly to reach 93 wins they would have to finish the season on a 18-11 tear (Including the Braves games).

Keep in mind, I didn't include the Philly games in my 93 win total for the Braves. I know 3 games doesn't sound like a lot, but with less then 30 games left and looking at the cupcakes on the Braves schedule I don't see it happening. For the Philly fans that think the last series is so big. It's really only a one game swing because there is no way either team will sweep the other.

Jimmy Rollins sucks and is very overrated

Call it what you will, but at least we still post when we aren't in 1st place or lose a game. When the Phils aren't playing well we don't hear much from any of you.

Most of us said the Phils would catch the Braves once they got healthy and rolling... Well um... they did. Not really bragging, just the way we felt.

Oh and I could disect your entire post and make you look foolish, but I'll just wait till the season is over. Good luck.

You have too much time on your hands to go back and copy posts. Seriously man.

The braves were in first place for three months. Shocker that fans were confident in their ability to play good baseball.

Like most of us have said, aubie_idol can say what he wants. That guy has been posting even when the Phillies were taking a hit. You run away when things aren't great and then are here all the time when things are. Your act is getting old.

Posted on 9/14 7:42 AM | IP: Logged

Because I don't have anything negative to say about the braves in a braves thread really doesn't make me a Phillies bandwagon member. As I said grew up there, been to the World Series in the 80's with them, diehard Flyers, Sixers and Eagles fan as well. And I would say to all of the other Braves fans, stay out of the phillies posts if your team is falling down and can't get up, don't get whiney with me, I didn't and haven't said anything negative about the braves.
