I know it may sound bias but I gotta take Mac. Aside from the batting average the numbers aren't so far apart that I would be willing to take the drop off on the power numbers. If Mauer hits a slump his average could drop quickly. If his AVG wasn't what it is now, would this even be considered a fair comparison? Plus you gotta look at Macs leadership. You can't overlook how important that is to have on your team. Especially fighting for a title. And getting back to the batting averages, I think Macs will continue to climb as he continues his consistency. So yeah. I'll take the consistent team leader with 20 homers all day. And it's not like his average isn't good. 280+ is damn decent. Factor in the clutch performances he's had and it's not even close.
