Paramus (N.J.) Catholic receiver Donald Stewart planned to take an official visit to Michigan this weekend, but those plans changed on Monday.
Stewart will take an official visit to Auburn instead.
"I talked to Coach Rhett Lashlee over the weekend and then (Monday) I talked to Coach Lance Thompson," Stewart said. "I got everything set up. I'm ready to go to Auburn."
Stewart will travel to Auburn early on Friday, but he won't be alone. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound receiver will have with him his five-star defensive tackle teammate Rashan Gary and five-star running back neighbor Kareem Walker.
"We're all coming down together," Stewart said. "Our ride is going to pick us up about 7 o'clock in the morning. It's going to get Kareem first and then scoop me up because we only live about five minutes from each other. We should be down at Auburn about 12 or 1 o'clock."
Gary and Walker already have visited Auburn. Walker attended the Tigers' Big Cat Weekend in May. Gary visited Auburn in June.
"This will be my first time at Auburn," Stewart said. "I'm really excited. I can't wait. Rashan has said nothing but positive things about Auburn. He hasn't been to a game, but he loved everything when he visited. He loved the dorms and the atmosphere around campus and town. He said it's just a great vibe down there."
Stewart will get to see Auburn's game day atmosphere. The Tigers host rival Alabama in the annual Iron Bowl on Saturday.
"I've always wanted to go to that game so I can't wait to see it," Stewart said. "I'm ready to see the crowd and everything. I heard it is going to be dope."
Stewart's uncles, one from Huntsville and the other from Pensacola, Fla., are meeting Stewart in Auburn on Friday.
"I know we are going to have a great time," Stewart said. "And hopefully I'll hear some good news while I'm there. Auburn has been showing a lot of interest. I talk to the coaches an awful lot. I've gotten nothing but positive things from Auburn."
But he's yet to receive an offer.
"I hope they do offer me this weekend," Stewart said. "I've heard from my coaches that they offered, but I haven't heard it myself. I hope I do during my visit."
It would change his recruitment. An offer from Auburn could end it.
"Oh, I would heavily consider it," Stewart said. "Heavily. I have been thinking about whether I'd commit, but my dad isn't going to be able to make it down with me. My dad is a big factor in my decision, so if they do offer I would come home and we would have some serious talks."
