The three-star defensive tackle from Gulf Coast Community College (Perkinston, Miss.) has taken his final visit, spoken with all of the coaches and researched all of the depth charts. The only thing left is to make a choice.
Wednesday, he will.
Swain, 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, will announce and sign with Auburn, Mississippi State or Kentucky. A time for his announcement/signing has not been set.
"I'm really going to be choosing from all three," Swain said. "I like them all a lot."
Swain has seen each program up close. He took an official visit to Auburn in October, one to Mississippi State in November, and returned home Sunday from an official visit to Kentucky.
Going into the final days before he makes his decision, Swain said he has reasons for having each program in his final three:
MISSISSIPPI STATE
"I have a great opportunity to develop as a player at Mississippi State. They are losing d-tackles and have a need for them. I liked my visit there and I think they are on the up. I could go in there and work hard and play early."
KENTUCKY
"Kentucky was the first SEC school to offer me so I knew I was going to visit them, and I'm glad I did. It went really good. I got along with a lot of the players. I got to see the city. I went to the (Kentucky vs. North Carolina) basketball game, and that was rocking.
"I sat down and looked at the depth chart, saw who they are losing, who they have coming back. Coach (Jimmy) Brumbaugh said I would play more than one position, and that would improve my (NFL) draft stock. The visit really opened my eyes to Kentucky."
AUBURN
"They stayed loyal to me. When I was in high school, Coach (Rodney) Garner is the one who told me about Gulf Coast. And then I remember talking to Coach (Gus) Malzahn before I got to Gulf Coast, and I asked him if he would give me a look (when I got out of junior college). He said he would, and he did. Him and Coach Garner came to Auburn and they stayed loyal to me.
"They got (Will) Muschamp now. I talked to him (Sunday). It went good. He offered me when he was at Florida before the coaching change, and he told me that he is excited to have another chance to recruit me, another chance to be my coach. I think he is going to be good for Auburn. They are going to have a defensive threat to go with their offensive threat."
Swain attended Troup County High in Lagrange, Ga. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
