Naples (Fla.) running back Carlin Fils-Aime doesn't watch sports. His knowledge of college teams is limited, and his interest in different schools comes from different places.
Take Auburn.
"I don't know a lot about teams, but one of the reasons I know about Auburn is because I use them when I play NCAA Football (13). I play with Auburn and play with (former Auburn quarterback Kiehl) Frazier."
Fils-Aime's allegiance to Auburn in the video game might not result in his allegiance to Auburn in college, but it will get the Tigers a visit.
"I plan on going to Auburn this summer," Fils-Aime said.
Fils-Aime, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, has been in contact with Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee and running backs coach Tim Horton. The relationship he's built over the phone is one he wants to further develop in person during a visit.
"I haven't met them, yet," Fils-Aime said. "But I'm really looking forward to it. Both of them seem really cool and they both seem really smart. And both of them are actually funny.
"We've been speaking about when I could get up there. I might try and get up there earlier, but right now it's looking like the summer. We'll see what happens. I do really like speaking to the both of them and can't wait to meet them."
Fils-Aime plans to visit Auburn during a road trip he and his parents plan to take this summer. He also plans stops at several other schools.
"I'll go up and visit Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, and then fly up to Michigan and Boston College," he said. "I will also try and see Ohio State, and I'll visit Florida during spring break or in the summer."
Fils-Aime already holds offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Boston College, Ohio State, Duke, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee, N.C. State, North Carolina, Michigan and Indiana, among others. He doesn't list any favorites and doesn't plan to make a decision anytime soon.
"I'm keeping everybody at the same level, everybody equal," Fils-Aime said. "I don't want to decide anything right now. I want to take some visits and see what happens."
And not just in a video game.
