Troxell suffers season-ending knee injury

Madison Academy offensive tackle Austin Troxell's senior season is over.

Troxell suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Friday night against Westminster Christian, the same ACL he tore a year ago.

“He won’t be back,” Madison Academy coach Grant Reynolds said. “We’re upset because Austin is a good kid and a viable part of our team.”

Troxell, an Auburn commitment, recovered from the ACL tear and surgery last year. Reynolds is optimistic the tackle can do it again.

“He’s got a great heart and is a very good teammate,” Reynolds said. “All the kids love him and he loves them. We’re hurting for him, but we know he has what it takes to overcome this and get back to where he needs to be.”
