AUBURN | Two of the top prospects in the 2017 class visited Auburn on Wednesday.
Rivals100 to Watch five-star safety Deangelo Gibbs and four-star inside linebacker Breon Dixon, teammates at Peachtree Ridge in Suwanee, Ga., spent the afternoon touring the Auburn campus and meeting with the Auburn coaches.
Here's what the pair had to say about the visit to Auburn…
Suwanee, Ga. (Peachtree Ridge)
On his visit…
"It went very well. We got there and toured the dorms and then met with the coaches. I met with Coach T-Rob (Travaris Robinson), Coach (Will) Muschamp and Coach (Gus) Malzahn. It was pretty cool. I like the coaches a lot. They stand behind their word. They are really good guys. They take care of their players. They look out for them like they are their parents."
Where Auburn stands…
"I don't have any top schools, no lists. My options are still wide open. But Auburn is definitely a school I'll be considering. I really like Coach T-Rob and the love he and the coaches show towards the players. I know some of the players at Auburn and I like hanging out with them, too. I'll probably be back sometime in July."
Suwanee, Ga. (Peachtree Ridge)
On his visit…
"It went really good. I liked it a lot. We toured the campus and dorms. I had seen most of the campus before so we went to the players' dorms and looked at those. We then went and talked to the coaches.
"I talked with Coach Robinson, Coach (Lance) Thompson and Coach Muschamp. I got to meet with them and see where they see me in the defense. I liked that. All of the coaches are real cool. I like them a lot. They all have a lot of positive energy, are all energetic and I like that."
Where Auburn stands…
"They are in a really good place. I really like it at Auburn. I like the family feel. Everything just feels like a family. They take care of you. I know a lot of people that went there (Pat Sims being one) that played for Muschamp and have told me how he will get you ready, how his system is set up to get you ready for the NFL."
If he plans to return to Auburn…
"I want to come back in the summer and bring my mom."
His timeline for a decision…
"I'm going to be enrolling college early (Spring 2017) so I'll be making my decision a little earlier than Signing Day."
