THE WAR ROOM
AUBURN | Auburn will play host to approximately 50 recruits for its game against Arkansas on Saturday.
The majority of the group is underclassmen, but there will be a quality mix of Class of 2017 recruits as well.
Two of the seniors will be on official visits: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) teammates Tre’ McKitty and Cesar Ruiz. Many of Auburn’s commitments also will be at the game, as well as several targets in the 2018 class.
*** The top targets in the 2017 class planning to visit Auburn on Saturday are four-star safety Devon Hunter, four-star linebacker De’Andre Wilder and three-star athlete/receiver Jeremiah Holloman. Each of the three already have an offer from Auburn.
Wilder, from Carol City High in Miami who is visiting this weekend, remains a target for Auburn, but not necessarily a top target. The Tigers still have guys higher on the board, including K.J. Britt, Will Ignont, Tyler Taylor and Monty Rice. Wilder is probably a tier-two guy right now.
*** Three in-state recruits that are on the verge of receiving an Auburn offer will be in the crowd: Minor wide receiver/athlete Jaylond Adams, Hewitt-Trussville wide receiver Noah Igbinoghene and Lafayette athlete/safety JaTarvious Whitlow.
Auburn evaluated both Adams and Igbinoghene last week. There’s a good chance at least one receives an offer soon, but it’s hard to say which one, or if both will be offered. Each made a favorable impression on wide receivers coach Kodi Burns. Auburn also is high on Whitlow, but continues to project him as a safety in college.
