TE set for Auburn visit
Tre McKitty finally will get the chance to attend his first game at Auburn.
The IMG Academy tight end and Oregon commitment will be in Auburn this weekend on an official visit. The Tigers host Arkansas inside Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
“I’ve visited Auburn four times, but never gotten to see a game,” McKitty said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the atmosphere of the game.”
McKitty has stayed in contact with Auburn since committing to Oregon in July. Tight ends coach Scott Fountain attended IMG’s game last Friday night. McKitty speaks regularly with Fountain, as well as offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.
“I’ve spoken to Coach Fountain and Coach Lashlee,” McKitty said. “They backed off a little bit to give me space when I committed, but I’ve been talking to them and keeping in contact. They told me they need a tight end and want me.”
McKitty heavily considered the Tigers before committing to the Ducks. Auburn will have the chance this weekend to change his commitment, .
