Smith is set to decide between Auburn and Clemson today and announce his decision from a local restaurant.
"I'm going to have two hats in front of me, Auburn and Clemson, and I'm just going to grab the one I feel fits me best," he said. "I'm excited. I'm ready. I feel like it's the right time to make this decision.
"I'm definitely going to be happy to get this off my chest."
Smith, rated the No. 4 FB in the country by Rivals.com, has taken official visits to both Clemson and Auburn. He feels like he knows enough about the two programs to make his decision.
"Both of them are excellent programs. Both of them run the ball," he said. "They are similar in a lot of ways. Both are college towns and great places to play college football.
"They have a lot of good things going for them and both are on the rise."
