Kim is ranked the No. 25 offensive tackle and the No. 228 overall prospect in the 2015 class. Kim chose Auburn over his other finalist, Georgia. There were no hats on the table, no games. Kim simply reached under the table and placed an Auburn hat on his head upon making his decision.
"Just one," Kim said. "I felt like that was the best way to go. No disrespect to any other schools. Georgia has been really good to me. Everywhere else, Ohio State, I could go down the list of everywhere I visited. It was first-class. I didn't want to be disrespectful to anyone."
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Kim also held offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Florida and many more. Kim holds 20 college offers in all.
"I'm committing to Auburn," Kim said during his announcement. "My comfortability with the coaches. They've sat down with me and talked about their schemes."
Kim notified head coach Gus Malzahn of his decision privately both last Saturday and again on Wednesday night.
"He's really excited. I told him last week at A-Day and it was an exciting time. Their game day is amazing. I've always like Auburn and how they run things. Their whole coaching staff is top notch," Kim said.
Kim took visits to Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Auburn and more. It was extremely important to get the feel of each program and the coaching staff before making a decision. With each visit, Kim became more eager to make an early decision. Kim's visit for the Tigers' spring A-Day game sealed the deal.
"It's important to get a good feel about everything and the culture of the school," Kim said. "To get to talk to the other offensive linemen and see how they act around the coaches. It's impressive, Auburn seems like they have some things rolling for them and it's something I want to be a part of."
Kim is Auburn's fifth commitment in the last six days and third offensive line commitment in the same time period. Sprayberry (Ga.) offensive tackle Bailey Sharp and Creekside (Ga.) offensive guard Marquel Harrell committed to Auburn last Saturday and Monday.
"I talked to (Sharp) a good bit at A-Day. He's an awesome guy too. I enjoyed talking to him," said Kim. "We are getting a good class. I'm looking forward to playing next to those guys."
Kim said he plans one official visit next fall - to Auburn.
"This will absolutely be my final decision," he said. "Just Auburn. No visits anywhere else. I'm a man of my word. I committed to Auburn and I'm going to stick with that decision."
