Rivals250 DB visits Auburn, has Tigers in top group

AUBURN | Rivals250 defensive back Cortez Andrews visited Auburn on Saturday.

It was Andrews’ first visit to Auburn and one he’d been wanting to take.

“I grew up a big fan of the SEC and Auburn is one of the heavyweights, so this was one of the big schools I grew up watching,” Andrews said. “Coming up to see it for the first time was really amazing.”

Andrews, who is from Godby High in Tallahassee, Fla., was one of approximately 70 top recruits at Auburn’s Junior Day.

“I really enjoyed it,” Andrews said. “It was a great experience. I love the coaches and the whole environment. It’s family. Family is everything up here and I really like that.”

Andrews plans to return to Auburn. He lists Auburn as one of his top schools, along with Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Ole Miss.

“I’ll most definitely be back at Auburn,” Andrews said. “I really like it here.”

Andrews plans to take his official visits in the spring and make his decision soon after.

“I plan on taking some visits in the spring and then I’ll be ready to make my decision,” Andrews said. “No leaders. Everything right now is neutral.”

Rivals ranks Andrews the No. 17 safety in the 2019 class and No. 236 in the Rivals250.
