AUBURN, Ala. | Rivals250 cornerback AJ Terrell visited Auburn on Tuesday, the second trip to the Plains this spring for the four-star recruit from Westlake in Atlanta.

And he already is planning to return.

“I have seen everything at Auburn now and I like everything,” Terrell said. “I want to come back for the spring game (April 9). Auburn is very close, right down the road from Atlanta, so it’s an easy drive and I really like it here.”

Terrell and his father, Aundell Terrell, met extensively with Auburn secondary coach Wesley McGriff on Tuesday. The Terrells also watched the Tigers practice and kept an eye on McGriff's coaching style.

“It was a great time,” AJ Terrell said. “I had never seen them practice and I really liked it. It was an up-tempo practice, lots of movement. I really liked all the movement.

“Coach McGriff was live. He likes to keep the DBs moving the whole practice. He also teaches a lot of physicality, which I like. I liked watching him and the defensive backs. There were a lot of good players out there, a lot of good competitions.”

One cornerback stood out to Terrell.

Carlton Davis, the freshman All-American, he looked really good,” Terrell said. “I kept my eyes on him to see what he does. He’s a really good player.”

Terrell will get to see more of Davis, McGriff and Auburn on his visit next Saturday for the Tigers’ A-Day Game. There’s a reason he wants to return. Terrell is high on Auburn, but stopped short of naming the Tigers the team to beat.

“I like it at Auburn,” Terrell said. “I don’t have a leader, but Auburn is up there at the top of the list almost, very close with South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame and Georgia. They're all even right now.”

Terrell, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 180 pounds, is ranked the No. 17 overall player from Georgia and is ranked No. 130 in the Rivals250. He doesn’t plan to make a commitment until the fall.

“I’ll probably do it during the middle of the season,” Terrell said.
