AUBURN | Master Teague, a running back from Blackman in Murfreesboro, Tenn., visited Auburn on Saturday.

It was Teague’s second trip to Auburn this spring, and it went better than the first.

“It was a great visit,” Teague said. “We didn’t get to see the academics last time, so we cleared up some questions with that. My mom also got to come and see everything. A lot of questions were answered, and overall it was a good visit.”

Teague and his mother arrived early Saturday and watched the Tigers scrimmage inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

“The offense looked real similar,” Teague said. “It would be a real comfortable move if I came here.”

Teague also spent time with Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton. The two met in the coach’s office and talked about life on the field as well as off of it.

“Coach Horton is a great man,” Teague said. “He seems like a good Christian man. He’s real passionate about what he does and I like the way he coaches. He has experience working with great tailbacks so he knows how to develop them.”

Teague is considering learning and playing under Horton. Auburn is one of many schools heavily recruiting Teague. The Tigers have offered, as have South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, LSU and Vanderbilt, among others.

Teague doesn’t list any favorites among the group, but hopes to narrow his options soon and commit by the end of the summer.

“Hopefully by July,” Teague said.

As a junior, Teague rushed for 2,031 yards and 24 touchdowns on 242 carries (8.4 avg.)
