AUBURN | Auburn had several of the country's top prospects on campus Saturday to attend the Tigers' annual A-Day game, and among them was 2017 Rivals100 to Watch linebacker Markail Benton.
Benton, 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, is one of the state's top juniors and one of the country's best linebacker prospects in '17.
Here is what Benton, teammate of 2016 four-star corner John Broussard, had to say about his visit.
Phenix City, Ala. (Central)
On his visit…
"It went good. There were a lot of people at the game. I got there a little late, got checked in and went inside the stadium and watched the game. After the game, I went to the locker room and hung out for a little bit, talked a little bit to the coaches. I didn't get to talk much with the coaches, but I'm going back in the summer with my parents and we'll get to talk to them then."
On the game…
"It was good. There was a lot of intensity. I didn't watch any player. I just watched the game and Coach (Will) Muschamp. He's such a good coach. When his players did something wrong, he corrected them. When they did something right, he told them. I like that. I like Coach Muschamp."
On who stood out…
"I didn't watch any particular player, but (cornerback) Stephen Roberts stood out to me. He played the ball well. He didn't give up on plays. He hustled. I like that."
Where Auburn stands…
"They are in my top three. I don't want to say the other two schools, but Auburn is in my top three - I do know that. I like the school. I like the atmosphere on game day. They have great coaches, and you can tell the coaches coach the players extremely well. That's big to me."
On his recruitment…
"I don't know when I'll commit. I haven't set a date. I'll just do it whenever I feel comfortable that I've found the right school."
