The three-star power forward received it Tuesday night.
"I committed," McLemore said. "I talked to them tonight and it feels great. I felt good that they would offer and when they did, I accepted it."
McLemore, 6-foot-7 and 205 pounds, chose Auburn over offers from Yale, Brown, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, South Carolina, Tulsa, Wofford and College of Charleston, among others.
"I just felt comfortable at Auburn," McLemore said. "The coaches really made me feel at home."
McLemore visited Auburn in June and left with the Tigers at the top of his list despite not having an AU offer. Coach Bruce Pearl and assistants Chuck Person and Todd Golden all made an evaluation trip to Las Vegas soon after to check in on McLemore. Pearl went to New York two weeks later for another chance to scout McLemore.
Pearl apparently liked what he saw, and McLemore's glad he did.
"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to play for Coach Pearl," McLemore said. "Coach Pearl is a great coach, and so are Coach Person and Coach Golden. They recruited me hard and I have developed a great relationship with each of them."
McLemore has plans to visit Auburn on Aug. 22. He previously scheduled an official visit to Yale for Sept. 11-13, but has canceled.
"I'm solid to Auburn," McLemore said. "War Eagle!"
McLemore averaged 19 points, 11.8 rebounds and 6.4 blocks per game as a junior. He plans to sign in November's early period (11-18).
McLemore, who carries a 4.0 GPA, is Auburn's third commitment in the 2016 class. Point guards Jared Harper and Mike Cohen also are committed to Auburn.
