AUBURN | Caleb Tannor visited Auburn in early April and watched the Tigers practice, but he would have liked to have seen more of the campus and talked more with the coaches.

So Tannor, a weakside defensive end from Miller Grove in Lithonia, Ga., returned to Auburn Saturday afternoon for an overnight visit.

“I came after the spring game and it went really good,” Tannor said. “I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches.”

Tanner met extensively with Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams, area recruiter Larry Porter and defensive line coach Rodney Garner. He also met with defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and coach Gus Malzahn.

“I spent a lot of time with Coach T-Will,” Tannor said. “We sat and talked and played Madden a little bit, basically just hung out. I like Coach T-Will a lot. Him and the rest of the coaches give out good impressions.”

Good enough to list the Tigers among his top schools.

“I like Auburn a lot,” Tannor said. “I like the campus a lot and the indoor facility and dorms. I like everything at Auburn. They are one of my top schools and I’ll definitely be back for another visit.”

Tannor said Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri make up his top five, but didn’t list a leader of the group and isn’t in a hurry to do so.

“I’m not in a rush,” Tannor said. “I’m going to wait it out.”

Tannor, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 235 pounds, is scheduled to visit Tennessee on Friday.
