AUBURN | The No. 1-ranked fullback in the 2017 class was in Auburn on Saturday for an unofficial visit.

Tory Carter, an LSU commitment from Lee County High in Leesburg, Ga., attended the Tigers’ 58-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

“I looked at their offense, their scheme and how they used the fullback,” Carter said. “I liked how they used him. They use him like they do at my school. We run a similar offense, a similar run scheme.”

Carter, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 255 pounds, watched as the Tigers rushed for 410 yards against the Warhawks. He also spoke before and after the game with area recruiter Scott Fountain.

“I talk to Coach Fountain on a regular basis,” Carter said. “He said they are looking for a fullback and that they like my film.”

Auburn has not offered Carter, but could move into contention if it did.

“I’d definitely consider them because the offensive strategy they use is one that I’m comfortable with,” Carter said.
