St. James (La.) junior quarterback Lowell Narcisse has committed to Auburn.
The Rivals100 dual-threat quarterback announced his decision during a ceremony at St. James High School on Monday evening.
Narcisse, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, chose Auburn over his other three finalists: LSU, Alabama and Clemson.
Narcisse visited Auburn on Saturday and spent most of his time on campus talking with Auburn offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Rhett Lashlee. His mother and two younger brothers all accompanied him on the visit.
"Auburn is basically a better offensive system for me," Narcisse said after his visit.
That makes the 300-mile drive from home worth it.
"If that's what it takes for me to be the best I can be, then that's what I'll do," Narcisse said.
Narcisse, ranked the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 class, passed for 3,124 yards and 31 touchdowns with 13 interceptions during his sophomore season. He also rushed for 1,402 yards and 18 scores. Narcisse is expected to miss this season after tearing an ACL in the spring game.
Auburn now has three commitments in the 2017 class. Narcisse joins Rivals100 five-star offensive tackle Calvin Ashley and Rivals250 four-star athlete Alaric Williams in Auburn's class.
Rivals ranks Narcisse the No. 56 overall player in 2017 and No. 3 player from Louisiana.
