AUBURN, Ala. | Buckhorn Rivals100 linebacker Will Ignont had seen Auburn's campus and facilities on previous visits. His three-day stay over the weekend was more about the people.
Ignont, ranked the No. 2 inside linebacker in 2017, arrived in Auburn on Thursday and stayed until Sunday.
"It was more about the coaches, getting to talk to them and building better relationships with them," Ignont said. "Like talking to Coach (Will) Muschamp and listening to what he had to say, I really liked that."
Muschamp made sure Ignont knew how highly he thought of the 6-foot-1, 240-pound junior.
"He said he thinks I could be a great inside linebacker, that I should have a chance to play in the NFL," Ignont said. "They are really excited about me and want to come to Auburn. They said that whenever I'm ready to jump in the boat, they'd take me."
Ignont is considering it. He doesn't list any favorites at this time, but plans to narrow his focus during his junior season. Auburn will be part of his focus until the end.
"Auburn is one of my few favorites," he said. "They will definitely be in there. I like how upfront they are. They don't beat around the bush.
"Coach Muschamp would push me to be the best football player and best person I can be."
Ignont plans to wait until next summer before announcing his commitment.
Rivals ranks Ignont the No. 46 player in the 2017 class and the No. 1 player in Alabama.
