Spanish Fort (Ala.) linebacker Tre Threat has had a memorable month of March.
The four-star prospect visited and subsequently received offers from both Auburn and Alabama. He saw his offer list grow to include eight schools - five from the SEC and three ACC.
He hopes April is as prosperous, but in other ways.
Threat has gathered eight options. It's time now to hunt for the right one.
"I have offers from Louisville, Clemson, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, North Carolina, Auburn and Alabama," Threat said. "That's the eight schools I'm looking at right now, and I want to narrow it down to a top three soon."
Threat already has visited Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
"I still have the other four schools I want to visit," he said. "I haven't visited Tennessee, North Carolina, Louisville or Clemson. And if any other schools offered, some SEC schools like Arkansas and LSU, I would want to visit them, too."
Threat, ranked the No. 10 inside linebacker in 2016, also plans to return to both Auburn and Alabama.
He'll be back in Auburn in a few days.
"I am going to try and get up there for their Thursday practice," he said. "I always like going up to Auburn, and I want to go watch them practice."
Threat doesn't have as much time to make his decision as other recruits. He plans to graduate high school in December and enroll in college in January.
Threat would like to have his decision made before the end of the summer, having tentatively set an announcement date for Friday, Aug. 14.
"I want to get it out of the way before the start of my senior season (Aug. 28)," he said.
