McKitty's recruitment far from over
AUBURN | Tre’ McKitty is committed to Oregon, but his recruitment is far from over.
The tight end from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. is still considering other schools and plans to weigh his options again before enrolling at one in January.
One of his other options is Auburn, where he took an official visit to over the weekend.
“It went really good,” McKitty said. “I had a good talk with all of the coaches. I had a good time. I got to spend a lot of time with the players and coaches.”
McKitty and his parents arrived in Auburn early Saturday morning. They saw the campus and facilities again, met with the coaches and attended the Tigers’ rout of Arkansas, a game in which Auburn amassed an SEC regular-season-record 543 rushing yards.
“It was a great, great win,” McKitty said. “I was expecting to see a close game, but they came out and balled out. There wasn’t too much passing, but when you’re getting 10 yards per run, you don’t need to pass.”
McKitty hasn’t seen Auburn use the tight end in its passing game this season. He didn’t see it Saturday night against Arkansas. McKitty doesn’t have anything to base an opinion on how and when he’d fit into the Tigers’ scheme.
That’s where his trust in the Auburn coaches comes into play.
