AUBURN | Sam Logwood will not play for Auburn.
The men's basketball signee from La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., was granted a full release by Auburn, a team official confirmed Wednesday.
Logwood, a 6-foot-6 small forward, signed with the Tigers in November under former coach Tony Barbee's staff. His enrollment at Auburn had been delayed while he worked to become a qualifier.
It's unclear if Logwood will be eligible to enroll at another D-I school this fall or have to attend a junior college.
Auburn remains one over the NCAA scholarship limit of 13 with the release of Logwood. First-year coach Bruce Pearl is expected to finalize the roster within the next couple of weeks.
Pearl has added two signees and three transfers to the roster since being hired in March. Forward Benas Griciunas transferred to Charlotte this summer.
Logwood averaged approximately 17 points and six rebounds as a senior.
