Roger McCreary has reopened his recruitment.

The little-known defensive back from Williamson High in Mobile is now a highly-coveted recruit by at least three SEC schools.

“I de-committed today from South Alabama,” McCreary said. “I’m now looking at Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee, and also Southern Miss. Those four schools are sticking out to me right now because those four schools are showing me the most interest.”

McCreary has been in contact recently with coaches from Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee. He’s scheduled an official visit in January to each of the three SEC schools.

Auburn, which offered McCreary on Tuesday, will get the first visit Jan. 12-14.

“Coach (Travis) Williams called me and said they are offering me,” McCreary said. “I was surprised. I thought they were going to wait until I visited, but he said he wanted to go ahead and offer me. That was exciting.”

McCreary will visit Alabama and Tennessee after he returns from his visit to Auburn.

“I’ll visit Alabama Jan. 19-21 and then Tennessee Jan. 26-28,” McCreary said.

Alabama and Tennessee have not offered, at least not yet. McCreary thinks that could change when he visits.

“I’ll wait until I take all my visits before I make my decision,” McCreary said. “All of them are recruiting me hard so those are the ones I’m going to look at the most."
