AUBURN | Bruce Pearl and his staff have hit the junior college ranks for one of the nation's top scorers.
Columbia (Tenn.) State Community College shooting guard T.J. Dunans committed to Auburn Monday following an unofficial visit this weekend.
Dunans, 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds, averaged 22.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists as a freshman at CSCC.
He upped those numbers to 33 points per game in the NJCAA national tournament including 52 points in a losing effort against Vincennes.
Originally from Atlanta, Ga., Dunans chose the Tigers over offers from West Virginia, Penn State and Cincinnati. He's scheduled to return to Auburn for an official visit Sept. 13.
Dunans is Auburn's third commitment in the last four days. Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy 4-star small forward Danjel Purifoy committed Friday and Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep 4-star power forward Horace Spencer jumped on board Sunday.
Both are Top 100 prospects.
Auburn must replace four senior guards on its roster next season in KT Harrell, Malcolm Canada, Antoine Mason and K.C. Ross-Miller.
