Milledgeville (Ga.) Georgia Military offensive lineman Tre Carter is a lifelong Auburn fan.
The 6-foot-3, 290-pound guard prospect attended Marion County High School in Georgia and has rooted for the Tigers his entire life. On Saturday, Carter unofficially visited Auburn, in what he's hoping is the first step towards an offer.
"My visit went great," Carter said. "I toured the school, meet all the coaching staff, I like everything about Auburn. The coaching staff was honest, upfront, and I would love to play for coach (Jeff) Grimes.
"The vibe around Auburn was awesome. The best part was meeting coach (Gene) Chizik, meeting and being around the coaches and the players. It was amazing. It doesn't get any better than Auburn."
Carter holds offers from Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State and Troy among others. After only being recruited by Auburn within the last three weeks, Carter hopes an offer from the Tigers is next.
"I've been an Auburn fan for a long time. I feel like they are close to offering me," Carter said. "It would mean a lot to me. I've been dreaming of playing in the SEC, my family would be proud of me. It would be great to be an Auburn Tiger."
Carter said he will graduate JUCO in the spring and enroll in college next summer.
From here on out, Carter will visit MTSU, Troy and Louisiana Tech. Auburn will continue to evaluate Carter's film and they two parties will remain in touch.
