The 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive tackle from Gulf Coast Community College (Perkinston, Miss.) signed with Auburn on Wednesday.
Swain chose the Tigers after narrowing his list to Auburn, Mississippi State and Kentucky.
Swain, who went to Troup County High in Lagrange, Ga., is the second Bulldog to sign today with Auburn. Four-star quarterback Jason Smith also made his allegiance to Auburn official, and punter Kevin Phillips announced he will walk-on at Auburn.
The Tigers weren't as fortunate with their other Gulf Coast target. Four-star cornerback Tony Bridges, once a long-time Auburn commitment, signed with Ole Miss.
Swain and Smith join former GCCC teammates D'haquille Williams and safety Derrick Moncrief at Auburn. Williams and Moncrief signed with the Tigers last year out of Gulf Coast.
Swain recorded 32 tackles, including 23 solos, and 4.5 sacks this season at Gulf Coast.
"They stayed loyal to me," Swain said Monday about Auburn. "When I was in high school, Coach (Rodney) Garner is the one who told me about Gulf Coast. And then I remember talking to Coach (Gus) Malzahn before I got to Gulf Coast, and I asked him if he would give me a look (when I got out of junior college). He said he would, and he did. Him and Coach Garner came to Auburn and they stayed loyal to me.
"They got (Will) Muschamp now. I talked to him (Sunday). It went good. He offered me when he was at Florida before the coaching change, and he told me that he is excited to have another chance to recruit me, another chance to be my coach. I think he is going to be good for Auburn. They are going to have a defensive threat to go with their offensive threat."
