Shedrick Jackson narrowed his recruitment on Wednesday.

The wide receiver from Hoover, Ala., released a list of five schools that will receive the majority of his interest: Auburn, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Mississippi State and Memphis.

Jackson talked about his top schools and why each made the cut.

Auburn: “It’s a special place. There are a bunch of great people down there. The coaches are great. I know the campus. It’s just a special place to me.”

Georgia Tech: “I like it at Georgia Tech. I like the coaches. They have a good history with wide receivers, which is one of the things that attracted me to Georgia Tech. They get plenty of opportunities in their offense to get the wide receiver 1-on-1 on the outside, and I like that.”

Missouri: “They are a little new to the SEC, but they’ve already had some success. It’s the only school I haven’t visited on my list, but I plan on visiting it soon. I talk to the coaches and hopefully will get up there in the future.”

Mississippi State: “I love Mississippi State, especially Coach G (Billy Gonzales). He’s a great dude. I talk to him a lot. He’s been to practices and watched me play. He likes what I do at receiver.”

Memphis: “Memphis is a great school. They are a real tight knit group. They have a great coaching staff and I like their offense. They sling the ball around a lot.”

Jackson plans to visit Auburn June 3 for Big Cat. He doesn’t have any other visits set at this time, nor does he have a timetable for a decision.

“It could happen at anytime,” Jackson said. “I feel like it could be soon, but whenever I feel it’s the right time is when I’ll do it.”
