Robinson, who already stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 195 pounds, camped Friday at Auburn and left with an invitation to play for the Tigers.

“Coach (Travis) Williams told me,” Robinson said of the offer. “It felt great, like the first stage of my recruitment. He said he likes that I’m athletic and he likes the way I carry myself.”

Robinson didn’t expect to leave Auburn with an offer.

“Not at all,” Robinson said.

Robinson will play free safety this fall for Jackson-Olin, but projects to finish his high school career at linebacker and continue there in college. Robinson worked at linebacker during the camp.

“I could have performed better on some things that were new to me, but I feel like I did well,” Robinson said.

Robinson isn’t in a rush to make his college choice. More options and offers will follow. In addition to Auburn, Robinson is receiving interest from Alabama, LSU and Florida, among others. He camped at Alabama on Saturday.

Robinson plans to return to Auburn in the fall for a game. The Tigers are expected to be a contender, especially after being the first to offer him a scholarship.

“They said they’d love to have me back,” Robinson said. “And this was my first time at Auburn, but I really do feel at home.”
