AUBURN | Homewood cornerback C.D. Daniels planned to play for Marcus Woodson when the defensive backs coach was at Memphis. Daniels was at one time committed to Woodson and Memphis.

Now Daniels hopes to play for Woodson at Auburn. Woodson was hired as the Tigers’ 10th assistant earlier this month.

“I like it,” Daniels said of Woodson being at Auburn. “It’s better for me.”

Daniels spent time with Woodson this weekend while on an official visit to Auburn.

“It was great. I loved it here,” Daniels said. “It felt like family. I built better relationships with the players and even better relationships with the coaches.”

Daniels didn’t indicate whether or not Auburn offered him during the visit.

“I don’t know, yet,” Daniels said. “Feb. 7.”

Daniels is optimistic the offer comes.

“I always wanted to play for (Woodson) and it’s going to feel better when I can play here with him in this very place,” Daniels said.
