Harrell made the announcement on Twitter over other finalists Alabama and Tennessee. Harrell also held offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Miss. State and Wisconsin among others.
Harrell is Auburn's 9th commitment of the 2015 class.
"I talked to Coach (J.B.) Grimes today and he was happy to have me," Harrell told AuburnSports.com. "I took my visit to Auburn and it was so different than anywhere else. It felt like home. This is where I want to spend my next four or five years playing football and getting an education."
Harrell was previously committed to Ole Miss, before de-committing two months ago.
Generally, a prospect must speak to head coach Gus Malzahn before the commitment is accepted by Auburn. That conversation is scheduled to take place on Monday night.
Harrell, 6-foot-5, 328 pounds, feels the fit within the Tigers' offense is a good one.
"I like their offense. They run the football, I love their style of offense," Harrell said. "They get after it. They have the best athletes in the country and are the top program in the country in my eyes. It's amazing."
Harrell named Tennessee his leader earlier this month. What changed to land Harrell with Auburn?
"I could have gone to Tennessee and Alabama, but when I'd go to Auburn, it felt like home. It was so great. I wanted my jersey and I was ready to play now," he said. "I went to Auburn one more time and it just caught my attention more than ever. Auburn is wonderful.
"Auburn's the place for me."
Harrell joins Sprayberry (Ga.) three-star offensive tackle Bailey Sharp on Auburn's commitment list. Sharp committed to the Tigers on Friday. Auburn could add another offensive lineman on Thursday as Mill Creek (Ga.) Rivals250 offensive guard Kaleb Kim will choose between Auburn and Georgia.
