AUBURN | Five-star Derrick Brown has yet to make a trip to Auburn this spring, but has plans to change that this week.
The nation's No. 2 defensive tackle will head to the Plains either Thursday or Friday for an unofficial visit.
Georgia remains his leader, but says that the Tigers are a close second -- and the race between the two is tighter than some people may think.
"I want to focus more on the academics with this upcoming trip," Brown told AuburnSports.com last month. "I want to see if they have my major (business marketing). And I really want want to talk with (Will) Muschamp and show my parents around. They have to like the school."
He is ranked as the No. 7 overall player and No. 2 player in the state of Georgia.

Auburn will also host another Rivals100 Peach State prospect this week.
Four-star Roswell (Ga.) linebacker Tre Lamar will be in town for spring practice on Thursday and will also tour the university's engineering school, AuburnSports.com has learned.
Lamar visited the Plains earlier this spring for Junior Day, and the Tigers secured a spot in his top five along with Alabama, Florida, Clemson, and Tennessee.
He is ranked as the No. 3 inside linebacker and No. 92 overall prospect.

The Tigers haven't slowed down on recruiting South Carolina commit Kyle Davis.
The Rivals250 wide receiver visited Auburn in February with Archer (Ga.) teammate Dylan Singleton -- and listed them in his top five.
"Auburn has a beautiful campus and it felt like home," Davis told AuburnSports.com during his visit. "And it's only two hours away. My mom, if she needed something, I could drive to her and be right back."
He is ranked as as the No. 16 wide receiver and No. 169 overall prospect.
