AUBURN, Ala. | Central Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.) Rivals100 junior Tony Gray was determined to be in Auburn on Friday, and didn't let practice stop him.
"I got out of practice and came straight here," Gray said Saturday in Auburn. "I wanted to come work out with (OL) Coach J.B. Grimes."
Gray, ranked the No. 6 offensive tackle in 2017, worked out with Grimes in Auburn's half-day camp.
"It was a great camp," Gray said. "J.B. Grimes is a great coach. He told me I did a great job, did excellent work, and that made me feel great."
Gray's mother, stepfather and cousin all accompanied him on the visit.
"Everyone enjoyed it," Gray said. "We hung around and talked to everyone, interacted with everyone in a family-type atmosphere. It was my cousin's first trip and she was very excited because she loves Auburn. I had to bring her with me."
Gray already has offers from several top programs, including Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Clemson and Tennessee, among others.
He now has visited Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama, and plans to return to Auburn in the fall.
Gray doesn't currently list any leaders.
Rivals ranks Gray the No. 42 overall player in 2017 and No. 6 overall player in Georgia.
