AUBURN, Ala. | Auburn plays host to SEC West rival Mississippi State at Jordan-Hare Saturday. The Tigers will look to rebound after a lackluster road loss to LSU.
FOURTH QUARTER:
Mississippi State defeated Auburn 17-9 gave the Tigers their second straight loss.
THIRD QUARTER:
Carlton Davis forced a fumbled on the opening drive, and the Tigers drove down to the nine-yard line thanks to a 31-yard run by White. However, Auburn could not find the end zone and elected to kick a 30-yard field goal to make it 14-3. Auburn forced a 3-and-out on the next series, but the offense was held to just three points again making it 14-6. Not to be outdone, Mississippi State added three more points to put the Bulldogs back up by 14 to end the quarter. Tre Williams was helped off the field by trainers early in the third quarter. He now has a brace on his left knee, and it does not look like Williams will re-enter the game. Peyton Barber eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the third time this season.
