David Marshall still is not set on signing with Auburn.
The Tigers' two-time defensive tackle commitment will take an official visit to in-state Georgia, he announced Sunday on Twitter.
Marshall, who attends Upson-Lee in Thomaston, will be in Athens on Jan. 22-24.
Marshall also announced Sunday plans to visit the Tigers the weekend before the Bulldogs. Marshall will be in Auburn on Jan. 15-17, which is the first weekend after the dead period ends on Jan. 13.
Marshall's roller-coaster recruitment began back in March when he first committed to Auburn. He and his family's prior relationships with then-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and family played big roles in Marshall's decision. Marshall's grandmother was the babysitter for Muschamp's wife, Carol. Marshall's aunt was a high school classmate of Muschamp.
The commitment, however, was annulled less than three months later. Marshall de-committed from Auburn in June after visiting Alabama. He later re-committed to the Tigers on Oct. 30.
Marshall's recruitment appeared to be over. His commitment to Auburn seemed solid. Then the December coaching carousel resulted in Muschamp leaving Auburn to be the head coach at South Carolina, and Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart leaving Tuscaloosa for the top job at Georgia.
Marshall plans to see what Smart's plans are at UGA, and he'll do it officially in January. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said Sunday during Birmingham Bowl preparations that he will hire Muschamp's replacement "in the near future."
Rivals.com ranks Marshall the No. 39 defensive tackle in the 2016 class and No. 50 player from Georgia.
