AUBURN | Jamien Sherwood spent the weekend in Auburn battling bronchitis, but the illness couldn’t keep the Tigers’ four-star safety commitment from enjoying his time on campus.

In fact, it didn’t hinder Sherwood at all.

“I had the time of my life,” Sherwood said. “It was great. Being back in Auburn is always a great feeling. There’s nothing like it.”

Sherwood, from Jensen Beach, Fla., was joined on the visit by his mother and cousin. The three arrived in Auburn on Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon.

Sherwood’s weekend had a busy itinerary. He toured the campus and met with Auburn coaches and academic personnel. Sherwood learned and experienced things about Auburn that he hadn’t in previous visits.

“I got to see life around Auburn without football,” Sherwood said. “I got to see the academic life.”

Sherwood got to see football, too. He watched from the stands of Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday as the Tigers beat No. 1 Georgia, 40-17.

“The game was crazy,” Sherwood said. “I thought it was going to be a closer game. I thought Georgia would be a better fight. The crowd was great. Even after Georgia scored on the first possession, the fans were still loud and in it.”

Sherwood committed to Auburn in July and has remained firm in his pledge, but still plans to visit other schools. He will take an official visit to Louisville Dec. 8-10 and one to Michigan Dec. 15-17.

“Those are the only two I have set up right now,” Sherwood said.

Sherwood also is considering visits to Clemson, Indiana and Florida, but feels confident in his commitment to Auburn.

“It would be pretty hard for someone to change my mind,” Sherwood said. “I can’t wait to start my journey (at Auburn) in the spring.”

Sherwood will return to Auburn for the Iron Bowl in two weeks. His plans are to sign a National Letter of Intent on Dec. 21.
