AUBURN, Ala. | Imhotep four-star offensive guard Johncarlo Valentin made the trip from Philadelphia, Pa. to Auburn this weekend for the Tigers' recruit cookout.
Valentin, ranked the No. 16 guard, hopes to make the long trip again in the fall.
"I like that it is a very family-oriented place," Valentin said Saturday. "I would like to come back for a game. I love it at Auburn. It's a good place. I'm big on family and could feel the love."
Valentin, who is 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, is being recruiting to Auburn by Lance Thompson. Valentin spoke with Thompson, Gus Malzahn and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes during his visit.
"It's a great coaching staff and they all talk very highly of Coach Gus (Malzahn)," Valentin said. "They made me very comfortable."
Auburn also made up ground with Valentin. The Tigers now are high on his list, but he's not ready to say just how high.
"They are definitely, definitely up there," Valentin said. "I can't give too much away, but they are up there. It's a great place. I love it."
Rivals ranks Valentin the No. 7 player from Pennsylvania in the 2016 class.
