DE commit enrolls in JUCO

Daquan Newkirk could end up at Auburn, but he'll have to do it via junior college.

The First Academy (Orlando, Fla.) defensive end/running back has enrolled at Gulf Coast Community College for academic reasons, according to the Sun Herald.

Newkirk no longer will be part of Auburn's 2016 recruiting class. The Tigers now have 17 commitments as the December dead period ends today. Auburn is expected to sign 24 in 2016.
