The son of the former Auburn running back de-committed from the Tigers on Sunday.
"After thinking a lot I have just decided to open my recruitment back up and de-commit from Auburn," Davis tweeted.
The decision doesn't come as a big surprise. Davis had been committed to the Tigers for more than a year, but in the spring expressed interest in other schools.
That might have something to do with Auburn's revamping of the defensive coaching staff.
Ellis Johnson and Charlie Harbison, in charge of the Auburn secondary at the time of Davis' commitment, are out. Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson are in.
Rivals ranks Davis the No. 8 safety and No. 135 overall player.
Auburn now has 12 commitments in its '16 class.
