Class of 2020 SF has AU offer, high interest in Tigers

AUBURN | Class of 2020 small forward Toneari Lane is getting a headstart on his recruitment, and colleges are doing the same with him.

Lane, from Shiloh in Snellville, Ga., has three early offers, including one from Auburn, which he received last summer following a standout year as a freshman. The offer and early interest from Auburn have the Tigers high on Lane’s list as he prepares for his sophomore season.

“Auburn offered last year at the Elite Camp,” Lane said. “And they are very high on my list. I am very much interested in Auburn.”

Lane is interested in Auburn and also very familiar with the Tigers - he’s visited Auburn’s campus “five or six” times. Lane’s most recent visit came June 4 when he participated in the Chuck Person Shooting Camp.

“I like the basketball program at Auburn, but I also like the campus, the dorms, the Wellness Center and the academics,” Lane said. “I like everything about it.”

So does Lane’s mother, Sharyea Jackson. She accompanied Lane to the camp hosted by Person, who is Auburn’s most prolific scorer, an NBA legendary shooter and Bruce Pearl’s associate head coach and top recruiter.
