AUBURN | Worth County (Ga.) power forward Anfernee McLemore took an official visit to Auburn over the weekend, and the two-night stay was the last thing left on his list.
He only needs a pen now.
"I'm just waiting to sign the papers," McLemore said. "I'm ready to be an Auburn Tiger."
McLemore, who is 6-foot-7 and 205 pounds, will sign with the Tigers on Nov. 11, the first day of the basketball early signing period. He'll be one of at least three Auburn signees in the early period. Five-star shooting guard Mustapha Heron and four-star point guard Jared Harper also plan to sign on Nov. 11.
McLemore didn't have doubts about signing with Auburn before his weekend visit. He's been solid since committing in August. The visit was more for preparing him for life at Auburn, showing him what he could expect.
He liked it.
"I had a great time," McLemore said. "It was an awesome experience. I had seen the campus before, but to be able to spend the night and be immersed with the guys was an awesome time."
McLemore's host was freshman guard New Williams.
"He showed me around the dorms and the campus," McLemore said. "He showed me a great time. He is a great guy and a great player. I saw the video of him dunking between his legs at the Pearl Jam. That was crazy."
McLemore on Friday attended the Tigers' exhibition game against Brevard College. Auburn was without four guards due to injuries, but still won 99-59.
"They played extremely well, especially missing four guys," McLemore said. "Coach (Bruce) Pearl is a great coach and you could see it. I thought they looked very good."
McLemore spent time with Pearl during the visit. The power forward saw Auburn's second-year coach in action at the game, but it was Pearl's interaction with the fans that impressed him. The two experienced Auburn's football pre-game festivities Saturday morning.
"I did the Tiger Walk with him and got to see how great of a guy he is," McLemore said. "I got to see how he didn't mind to stop and take a picture or shake a hand. He's just a friendly guy and easy to be around. Everybody loves him."
McLemore was one of two official visitors in Auburn over the weekend, joining Rivals150 center Abdulhakim Ado. Auburn also played host to several unofficial visitors, including 2017 Rivals150 five-star commit Austin Wiley, 2017 Rivals150 four-star commit Davion Mitchell, 2017 Rivals150 four-star power forward Alex Reese and 2018 guard target Tony Johnson.
McLemore carries a 4.0 GPA and averaged 19 points, 11.8 rebounds and 6.4 blocks per game as a junior.
"I'm ready to do it at Auburn," he said. "I can't wait."
